MRC was founded in 2013 by Karsten Bleymehl.

Since 2003 Karsten specialized in “material innovation in product design”. Over the years he formed a passionate network of material enthusiasts from different backgrounds to carry out customized materials research in Europe, the US and Asia.

As Director Library & Materials Research, Karsten made a decisive contribution to the build-up and management of the German dependance of the leading material-driven design resource Material ConneXion from 2005 to 2013.

The trained industrial mechanic (machine and system technology) and graduate in product design managed more than 150 national and international consultancy projects for customers from more than 20 sectors.

Since 2009, Karsten is lecturing at univerities of applied science for product development, product design and architecture. Amongst others in Coburg, Cologne and Pforzheim.

Karsten is co-founder and managing partner of The Circular Materials GmbH.
